Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) -A long standing saying in baseball is that good teams take advantage of the other team's mistakes. The Lake County Captains did just that on Thursday night as they capitalized on five Great Lakes Loons errors while banging out twelve hits on their way to a 10-6 win at Classic Park.
The Captains fell behind early in the top of the second inning. With one out, Alex Verdugo tripled to center. He would then score on a James Allen RBI single.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Captains would take the lead. With one out, Dorssys Paulino reached on a fielding error. Paulino would then score on David Armendariz's RBI double. Francisco Mejia would follow with a single. Armendariz would then score on a Sicnarf Loopstok RBI single. Greg Allen's RBI sacrifice fly would score Mejia to give the Captains a 3-1 lead.
The Captains added another run in the bottom of the third. Yu-Cheng Chang started the inning with a single and would come around to score on a Paulino RBI single.
Lake County would break the game open with three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings.
In the fourth inning the Captains would take advantage of three Loons errors while scoring three runs with Bobby Ison picking up an RBI on a groundout. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Captains once again took advantage of a Great Lake's error to plate three runs. Chang would deliver a two run single in the inning.
The Loons would fight back in the top of the eighth and would score two runs with the help of a Captains' error. Allen would deliver a two run single.

Justin Garcia added one perfect inning of relief. Julian Merryweather would go one inning in relief. He would allow two runs, none earned, on three hits.
