GAME OF THE WEEK: Swing 4, Cougars 2

Saturday night's Swing victory over the Cougars was a huge one for so many reasons. It brought the Swing to a three-game winning streak (that would eventually become six) with a stirring win over a first-half champion, it marked another comeback win for the surging Swing, and it gave Julio DePaula a boost of confidence against nemesis Eddie Kim, who had ended two previous games with hits against DePaula. With just minutes left before the game would have to be suspended due to scheduled fireworks, DePaula struck out three slugging first baseman on three pitches, sending the Swing to the win. Tristan Crawford went two scoreless innings to get the win, while Alex Garcia and Brock Peterson had the big runs knocked home for the Swing.

Player of the Week: KYLE GEIGER

The Swing catcher has been a revelation since joining Quad Cities at the end of the first half, batting .342 in 11 games since joining the Swing at the end of the second half. Geiger is coming off the most productive offensive week of his career, during which he batted .444 (8-for-18) and led the team with six RBI. Geiger had the best day of his career in front of a packed house at Dayton on Monday, going 3-for-3 with the first home run and the first triple of his career, coming only a double short of the cycle. A draft-and-follow as a 42nd round pick in the 2002 draft, Geiger started the season as a backup with High-A Fort Myers, before coming down to the QCA. The Swing have surged since his arrival, going 11-6 since Geiger, Tristan Crawford and TJ Prunty arrived.
