Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa â The familiar black and gold of the University of Iowa will replace Kernels red and navy on University of Iowa Night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Kernels will wear gold jerseys with black pinstripes when they tangle with the Beloit Snappers on University of Iowa Night on July 20. Game time is 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.
The jerseys will have a script Kernels in black on the front and a Tiger Hawk above the numeral on the back. All the jerseys will be up for bid during a silent auction, which will be held throughout the game. Proceeds benefit the University of Iowa.
Fans also are encouraged to break out their black and gold clothing in support of the Kernels that night.
UI President David Skorton will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
Two ticket packages are available. Tickets in the Randy Kuehl Honfidence Pavilion, including unlimited food and beverage, are $21 each (seating limited) or Club tickets, usually priced at $7, can be purchased at the discounted price of $5.50. Tickets can be purchased from the University of Iowa by phoning 800-469-2586 or going online at www.iowalum.com/ballpark.
