July 24, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release
Walla Walla, Wa- The Sweets pulled off another victory in the final at-bat at Borleske with a 3-2 win over the Kelowna Falcons. The win gave the Sweets (20-19) a series win over the Falcons (25-14) and it tied the season series at 3-3.
The Sweets were held to two hits and no runs through the first eight innings, but they exploded in the ninth inning. Myles Hager led it off with a base hit and that was followed by a double off the bat of Nick Halamandaris.
Kyle Nixon then worked a walk and after a pop-out, the stage was set for Kyle Dozier. He lined a ball into right-center field and that cleared the bases to give the Sweets the win. It was the seventh walk-off on the season.
The Sweets also got a solid start from Easton Lucas as he went seven innings, only giving up a run while striking out seven.
Walla Walla still remains a game back in the wild-card as both Corvallis and Yakima Valley won on Thursday night.
The Sweets will leave the friendly confines of Borleske Stadium and head to Victoria for three with the HabourCats before three with Kitsap.
