The Kelowna Falcons picked up their 5th shutout of the season on Friday night in their fastest game, a 1:47 1-0 win over the WCL Leading Bend Elks.
Kelowna scored their lone run in the 5th inning on an infield ground out by Grant Meylan, who had 2 hits on the night.
Brady Miller picked up his 5th win of the season throwing 7 innings, giving up just 3 hits and striking out 4.
Jayse Bannister would pick up his 1st WCL save by working the last 6 outs of the ballgame.
For the Elks, Patrick McGuff was strong as well, throwing 8 innings, giving up just 5 hits and the lone run, but gets saddled with his 1st loss of the season.
Kelowna will continue their series on Saturday night at Elks Stadium in Kelowna when they send Michael Koval to the mound.
The 26th win tonight is the 2nd most in a single season by the Kelowna Falcons, who have been playing in the West Coast league for 11 years. The team record for Shutouts in a season is 6, set in 2012.
