
Sweets Fall in Game Three to Kitsap

Bremerton, Wa- Defense dropped Sweets in game three against Kitsap as they were taken down 4-3. The loss gave the BlueJackets the series victory and pushed their record up to 19-26, while the Sweets dropped to 21-23.
The Sweets jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a run in the second on an RBI single by Dylan Wilbert and added another run in the sixth when Kyle Dozier scored on a wild pitch.
That score held until the BlueJackets scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead. They would add another big insurance run in the eighth and the lead was 4-2.
The Sweets tried to battle back in the ninth and got an RBI single by Nick Halamandaris with two-outs in the frame, but that would be all.
Easton Lucas was the bright spot on the mound for the Sweets. He threw six shutout innings, only giving up two hits and walking three while striking out seven. He picked up strike outs in five out of the first six outs he recorded.
The Sweets will take a couple days of before they head back out on the diamond at Borleske Stadium for three against the wild-card leading Corvallis Knights. Those games can be heard on ESPN Walla Walla, but you can also get tickets at wallawallasweets.com.
