NIGHTMARE NIGHT: A nearly four-hour Sunday nightmare finished with the RailRiders falling to the Charlotte Knights, 13-9. The two clubs combined for 30 hits including 10 extra-base knocks by the RailRiders. SWB outhomered Charlotte in the loss, 5-0. Seven different Charlotte hitters collected an RBI while six different RailRiders bats did the same.

TOUGH TIMES: The RailRiders have lost six of their last eight. Sunday's setback dropped the team to a season-worst-tying six games below .500. The last-place team has also tied a season-low mark at 11.5 games out of first.

ADIOS PELOTA: The RailRiders blasted five home runs in a game for the first time since a July 2, 2013 win at Pawtucket. Rob Refsnyder, Adonis Garcia, Kyle Roller, Corban Joseph and Austin Romine delivered the damage in that order.

PNC POWER: Sunday's five round-trippers tilted SWB's power totals in favor of the normally pitcher-friendly PNC Field. In eight fewer games (49-41) and 307 fewer at-bats (1,679-1,372) the RailRiders have hit more homers at PNC Field (37) than on the road (33). Last year's RailRiders paced the IL with 133 home runs in the first year of the reconstructed PNC Field. However, that squad hit 73 (55%) of them on the road.

BACK-TO-BACK JACKS: Joseph and Romine hit back-to-back homers in the seventh off winning pitcher Maikel Cleto (2-0). They became the first SWB duo to go back-to-back since Corey Patterson and John Ryan Murphy took Charlotte's Simon Castro out of the yard on Aug. 13, 2013.

EXTRA, EXTRA!: Romine doubled twice along with his homer. In his last 13 games he has gone just 8-for-46 (.174), but six of those hits have gone for extra bases with 10 RBIs in the process.

LONG TIME, FIRST TIME: At 3:42, last night was SWB's longest nine-inning home game since at last 2004. It was the squad's longest nine-inning game overall since taking 3:41 to win at Indianapolis in 2010, 10-7. The game started on May 20, endured a 1:50 delay, and was suspended before its May 21 conclusion. The franchise's all-time wins leader, Kei Igawa (33), got the win in relief of an ineffective Ivan Nova. Jonathan Albaladejo earned the 13th of his franchise-record 43 saves that season. He also owns the career saves mark at 54.

NEVER NERVOUS: Yangervis Solarte turns 27 today. He fell a home run short of the cycle on Sunday and through two games played with SWB he has gone 6-for-8 with three extra-base hits.

OFF THE RAILS: Corban Joseph snapped an 0-for-13 slide with a pinch-hit single for Scott Sizemore in the fifth...He is 3-for-4 as a pinch hitter this season...He entered the game hitting just .123 (8-for-65) at PNC Field before going 2-for-3 with a homer, his first at PNC Field since May 25, 2013 versus Durham...The RailRiders used a season-high six pitchers for a third time...Taylor Dugas and Antoan Richardson became the second and third position players to take the bump for the RailRiders this season...Combined with the efforts of former RailRider Russ Canzler, SWB position players have combined on three scoreless innings of two-hit baseball this season...On Sunday the RailRiders announced the addition of tonight's tilt to the MyNet telecast schedule...The team and the station also announced that both of Thursday's doubleheader games will be on live TV throughout the region along with a special between-games program from the field.
