Rochester Red Wings News Release

THE ROCHESTER RED WINGS lost a 7-6 decision to the Buffalo Bisons Monday night at Frontier Field after Bisons' DH Erik Kratz hit a solo home run off Michael Tonkin in the ninth inning to snap a 6-6 tie. The Wings, who led 6-3 after six innings, lost for just the 6th time this season when holding a lead after six frames (43-6).

- ERIC FARRIS (2-for-4; 2 2B, 2 RBI), who collected his team-leading 32nd multi-hit game of the season, has now recorded a hit in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .328 (20-for-61) with 6 doubles and 9 RBI.

- BRAD NELSON (1-for-4; 2 RBI) had a two-run single as part of the Wings' five-run third inning, giving him at least one RBI in four consecutive games (tying a Red Wings season-high). Over his last four games, Nelson is 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, two homers, five runs and 8 RBI (27% of his season total).

- DOUG BERNIER (3-for-5; R) started as the Wings designated hitter on Monday night for the first time since July 8, 2008 with Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League. Bernier, who now has collected at least three hits in six games this season, has a hit in eight of his last 10 games, batting .341 (14-for-41).

- THE RED WINGS have now scored at least six runs at Frontier Field in eight straight games going 6-2 over that span. Rochester has scored a total of 79 runs (7.9 R/G) over their last ten games, hitting .311 over that span with 50 extra-base hits.

- SEAN GILMARTIN tossed 6 1/3 innings allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out five in his longest start as a Red Wing. Gilmartin left with one out and one on, as Lester Oliveros came in and struck out the first batter he faced, before allowed four consecutive hits allowing the tying runs to score. Oliveros had allowed just 3 runs over his previous 18 outings (0.84 ERA)

- A.J. ACHTER entered the game in the seventh inning with two-on and two-out but stranded both runners as Achter has now stranded 20 of 23 (87%) inherited runners this season. By retiring all four batters he faced, Achter lowered his IL-best BAA to .132 (19-for-144).
