Cincinnati Swarm News Release

James Scott established a team milestone on Thursday night when he became the first Swarm player to catch 100 passes in a season. Setting team records is nothing new for Scott who has been setting franchise records throughout the Swarm’s inaugural season. Below is a list of Scott’s accomplishments this season.

Week 1 at Louisville: Scott becomes the first Swarm receiver to record 100-plus yards in a game. Scott pulls down seven balls for 101 yards. Scott’s seven catches ties for the team lead, it is the first of eleven times this season that Scott has led or tied for the team lead in catches.

Week 2 at Birmingham: Scott becomes the first Swarm wideout to catch more than one touchdown pass in a game when he scorches the Steeldogs for two TDs. Scott also record 11 catches in the game.

Week 6 vs. Louisville: Scott records 11 catches for 178 yards and five touchdowns. Scott receives Game MVP honors for his efforts. The 178-yard output still stands as the franchise record for receiving yards in a game. The five touchdowns is also a franchise record. The 11 catches ties Scott’s franchise record set in Week 2.

Week 9 vs. Hawaii: Scott leads the Swarm in catches for the eighth consecutive game. In Week 10 vs. Quad City, Scott fails to lead the team in catches for the first time ever.

Week 11 at Quad City: Scott catches a still-standing franchise record 15 passes. Scott also records 144 yards vs. the ‘Wheelers and thus becomes the first Swarm receiver to top the 1,000 yard receiving mark.

Week 12 vs. Green Bay: Scott catches only six passes but still manages to record 147 receiving yards. The 24.5 yards per catch average is the highest in team history. In the game, Scott also catches the longest pass completion in Swarm history (47 yards) from Christian Batcheller.

Week 13 at Mohegan: Scott breaks his own record for longest pass reception when he catches a 49-yard bomb from Batcheller on the Swarm’s opening drive.

Week 14 vs. Rochester: Scott catches eight passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns. The eight catches give Scott exactly 100 receptions for the season making him the first Swarm receiver to hit the century mark.

As the Swarm prepare for their final three games, Scott is third in af2 in receiving yards (1,360) and fourth in catches (100). When the season ends, Scott will almost surely lead the Swarm in both receiving yards and catches during their inaugural season and thus set the team records in both categories.
