The Pioneers are still mathematically alive for an American Conference playoff birth, but the team needs some help from a few other teams (in the form of losses). Final Home Game of the 2003 Regular Season: The final game of the Pioneers 2003 regular season vs. the Albany Conquest on Friday, July 11th is Fan Appreciation Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive a FREE Pioneers T-SHIRT courtesy of AAA Mid-Atlantic, WB 38 and Fox 56. Tickets are Buy-One-Get-One Free Upper Deck. And, weather permitting, the outdoor Fan Fest will be KICKIN' with the free NFL Interactive games, sponsor booths, music, food and drinks. After the game, the Pioneers are auctioning off six (6) game worn jerseys. But you have to stick around to bid, as the auctioneer will be RIGHT ON THE FIELD. AND the Pioneers are offering a regular-season-ending ARENA ONLY sale on all Pioneers merchandise. Everything is discounted 10%. Not valid with any other discounts. Tickets for the final regular season home game are available at the arena box office or through ticketmaster.
Ms. Pioneer: The popular vote is worth 25% of the final calculation for the Ms. Pioneer 2004 winner. You can vote today on-line at www.wbspioneers.com or during Fan Fest at the game (look for the three finalists passing out voting slips). Thanks to event sponsors AAA Mid-Atlantic, Aja Spa and Salon, Premiere Tanning, Alpha Model Group, WKRZ and the Weekender. Check out the finalists on the Pioneers website www.wbspioneers.com.
Upcoming Events:
Booster Club Banquet: The Pioneer Booster Club is hosting their End-of-the-Season Banquet at the Ramada. Cocktails begin at 6PM and dinner at 7PM. The players and staff will be in attendance. For more information, contact: ClarkeB@lackawanna.edu.
Charities:
United Way Post-Game Live Auction: Stick around after the game on Friday, July 11th for a live post-game jersey auction right on the Pioneers field. Kevin Nagle, Harold Jackson, Kyle Grove, Rich Butcofski, Cosmo DeMatteo and Johnny Anderson will each be auctioning off their home game jerseys for charity.
United Way Rich's Golf Center: Come spend a fun family day with the Pioneers. The team and dance team will be at Rich's Golf Center in Wyoming on Wyoming Avenue Sunday, July 20th from 1-3 PM. The team is there to have fun while playing miniature golf, testing their skills in the batting cages and playing on the water ride ... join the team in this good time. Rich's golf Center is donating half of all the money spent by guests between 1-3PM to the Pioneers United Way Charity Fund.
Fran Pasadero: The Arena Football family lost a member of its team with the recent and unfortunate death of Orlando Predator's coach Fran Pasadero. The Pioneers, whose President and GM Dave Berryman was a former co-worker and dear friend of Fran's, are working to build a donation to the Fran Pasadero Memorial Fund which will ultimately benefit Fran's two-year-old daughter.
The Pioneers are selling $5 raffle tickets to support this cause. Fans that purchase raffle tickets may win two (2) season tickets, a signed football or other Pioneers gear. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, please call Tara at the Pioneers front office (570) 270-3484.
