SwampDogs Drop Game One of Doubleheader with Wilmington, 6-3

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs lost 6-3 to the Wilmington Sharks in game one of a doubleheader Monday night at J.P. Riddle Stadium.

With the win, Wilmington (18-16, 5-1) moved into a tie with Fayetteville (23-13, 6-2) for first place in the CPL South for the second half. Kenny Bryant's grand slam in the top of the fourth inning and proved to be the difference.

Chris O'Grady (2-1) earned the win for Wilmington, with Chris Dula striking out the side in the seventh for his first save of the season. Derek Brooks (5-1) walked a season-high five in suffering his first loss of the season.

Game two is set to begin at 9:05 p.m.
