Swamp Rabbits Add Curran from AHL Hartford

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced defenseman Kodie Curran has been assigned to the club from Hartford.

Curran, 26, played 25 games with the Swamp Rabbits earlier this season and ranked second among defenseman with 13 points (3g, 10a) at the time of his call-up on December 14. Curran was also tied for second on the club with 10 assists and added 14 penalty minutes and a +3 rating.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Curran signed an American Hockey League contract with Hartford on September 8, 2015, and made his professional debut with the Wolf Pack at the end of last season. He has registered three points (3a), 16 penalty minutes and a +2 rating in 16 appearances with Hartford overall. In addition, Curran recorded two fights during his latest call-up, dropping the gloves with Albany's Chris McKelvie on January 2 and Lehigh Valley's Samuel Morin on January 16.

Prior to turning pro, he played five seasons in his hometown at the University of Calgary from 2010-15. He led all Canada West University Athletic Association (CWUAA) defensemen in points (24), goals (8) and assists (16) last season and earned First-Team All-CIS West honors for a second consecutive season. Curran also tied for fifth among all CIS defenseman in points. The 6'2, 200-pound blue-liner notched 96 points (17g, 72a) in 89 career contests overall.

On Deck: The Swamp Rabbits continue a five-game road trip on Thursday with a 7 p.m. puck drop against the Orlando Solar Bears at the Amway Center. Fans can follow all of the live action via ECHL.TV or the free Mixlr audio stream. The Official Road Watch Party Destination, Palmetto Restaurant and Ale House located at 103 E. Beacon Drive in Greenville, will also stream the game live beginning at 7 p.m.
