ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspensions.

Alaska's Hunt fined, suspended

Alaska's Garet Hunt has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #588, Alaska at Colorado, on Jan. 31.

Hunt is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline as a result of his actions during an altercation at 18:37 of the third period.

Hunt will miss Alaska's games at Idaho (Feb. 3, Feb. 5 and Feb. 6).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Fort Wayne's Meurs fined, suspended

Fort Wayne's Garrett Meurs has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #602, Fort Wayne at Kalamazoo, on Jan. 31.

Meurs was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing under Rule #50.5 at 19:52 of the first period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Meurs missed Fort Wayne's game at Brampton on Feb. 2 and will miss its game vs. Quad City on Feb. 6.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
