Toledo's Paterson Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jake Paterson of the Toledo Walleye is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 25-31.

The 21-year-old was 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.99 goals-against average and a save percentage of .966 in two appearances last week.

Paterson recorded his first career professional shutout on?Friday, making 28 saves in a 4-0 win against Brampton and then turned aside 27 shots in a 3-2 victory over Quad City on?Sunday.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Paterson has appeared in 16 games with the Walleye this season posting a record of 7-7-2 with one shutout, a 2.38 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage. He also has seen action in one game with Grand Rapids of the American?Hockey League.

Selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round (80th overall) of the 2012 NHL?Entry Draft, Paterson made his pro debut with?Toledo last season, stopping 39 of 41 shots he faced in two games.

Prior to turning pro, Paterson appeared in 192 career Ontario Hockey League games with?Saginaw and Kitchener posting an overall record of 96-75-15 with seven shutouts, a 3.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.

Runners Up: Jack Campbell, Idaho (3-0-0, 1.30 GAA, .953 save pct.) and Franky Palazzese, Wheeling (2-0-0, 1.48 GAA, .953 save pct.).
