Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, S.C. - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, are thrilled to announce that "Swamp Rabbit Fever" has infected more than half of the United States, as well as Canada and Europe, since the team rebranded less than a month ago.
Due to the tremendous demand for Swamp Rabbits' merchandise, the team's official store, the "Hop Shop," will continue to be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through the end of October. In addition, fans may browse and purchase the latest merchandise and gear through the online team store. With new items coming in each week, the virtual "Hop Shop" is a great place to gear up for the season.
Since the franchise rebranded nearly four weeks ago, "Swamp Rabbit Fever" has taken North America by storm. As of September 23, merchandise and apparel have been shipped to 28 states, spanning Alaska to Florida and California to New York. In addition, three Canadian provinces including Ontario, Alberta and Quebec have also caught the fever, and shipments have been made to the United Kingdom.
"The initial response to the Swamp Rabbits' brand has been remarkable and has provided a great launch pad for the season, "Vice President of Marketing and Revenue Support Megan Dotson said. "Our ultimate goal is to give all of North America Swamp Rabbit fever."
Following the rebrand on August 26, the Swamp Rabbits' likeness swept across the nation and into Canada within a matter of minutes. The team received coverage from national media outlets including CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, ESPN, TSN, Today's Slapshot and more.
"The response to the rebrand by both the local and national media has been fantastic," General Manager Chris Lewis said. "The community is really starting to embrace the new identity and we are excited about taking our place as Greenville's hockey team to new heights."
The Swamp Rabbits' "Hop Shop" is located just inside the plaza entrance of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena (650 N. Academy Street in Greenville). The shop is fully stocked with items for men, women and children that range from t-shirts and jackets to pucks, keychains and car magnets. Brand new Swamp Rabbits' jerseys are also available for pre-sale inside the team store or online.
