Swamp Bats Split Series with Muskrats

The Swamp Bats split a two game series against the Laconia Muskrats playing their suspended game from June 12th due to rain and their regular scheduled game at 6:30. The Swamp Bats would win the first one 7-6 and lose the second one 5-1 to stand at 3-11 on the year.

The first game would conclude in the 15th inning off of a Chris Hardardt RBI single that would eventually be the game-winning hit.

The game resumed at 5:00 P.M. in the top of the 13th. The Swamp Bats combined for 21 hits on the game. Larry Crisler was five-for-eight including a home run he had on June 12th. He would add another single to his stat line today. Zach Willeman would close it out for the Swamp Bats in the bottom of the 15th inning retiring all three batters. It would be his 3rd save on the season.

In the second game, both teams would score a run in the 1st inning. Keene would get on the board first with a groundout RBI from Shane Matheny and then a Deon Stafford hit a solo home run for the Muskrats.

However, It would be all Muskrats after the first inning. Laconia would score again in the 2nd inning with two runs and another two runs in the 5th inning including RBI singles from Vinny DeMaria and Will McKenzie.

Brian Hobbie started the game for the Swamp Bats but would play through just 4.2 innings, allowing all five runs and three of them earned. Paul Covelle and Connor Sahlin would come in for relief and keep the game at five runs. Connor Fitzsimons would conclude the game going two-for-four and makes it his fourth straight game with at least one hit.

The Swamp Bats will be at home next game on Tuesday to host the Valley Blue Sox in another divisional game at 6:30 P.M.
