
Surf's Wladyka Sold to Royals Organization

The Can-Am League announced today that the contract of Atlantic City Surf pitcher James Wladyka has been sold to the Kansas City Royals. Wladyka will be sent to Single A Burlington of the Midwest League.
Wladyka, a native of Bellville, NJ, made on start for the Surf in 2007. He had an ERA of 2.25 in four innings of work and the opposition was hitting .263 against him.
Prior to arriving in Atlantic City the 24-yeard-old Wladyka played two seasons in the Mets organization. In 2005 Wladyka pitched for Kingsport of the Appalachian League and hurled in 2006 for Single A Hagerstown of the South Atlantic League. Wladka had a cummulative record of 2-3 with a 2.98 ERA in 99 2/3 innings pitched in the Mets system.
"We're happy for Jimmy,''' said Surf manager Chris Carminucci. "It's our goal to get as many players possible back into major league organizations.''
The Surf open a seven-game homestand against the North Shore Spirit Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Bernie Robbins Stadium. It will be Classic Car Show Night at the ballpark.
