Grays RF Brian Baker knocked in the game-winning run in the final inning of the first game of the doubleheader against the Spirit. With DH Chad Gabriel on second, Baker hit a single that was nearly caught by a diving North Shore RF Carlos Rodriguez to put the Grays ahead. On the evening Gabriel went 2-for-3 with one run. Grays starting pitcher went five innings while allowing one run on four hits but did not factor in the decision. Grays reliever Dustin Nielson earned his first win of the season by pitching one inning of one-hit baseball. North Shore 2B Ricardo Cordova scored the teams only run on a 2-for-4 night.

The Grays won the second game of their doubleheader with the North Shore Spirit on the strength of a four-run third inning. Grays 1B Mayke Cabrera had a part in three of the five Grays runs, batting in two and scoring one himself. Grays starting pitcher Everett Stull pitched the seven-inning complete game with no runs allowed on eight hits with six strikeouts. Seven Grays batters picked up hits on the night with Cabrera and LF Chad Gabriel each going 2-for-4. With the two wins Thursday, the Grays bring their record above .500 at 4-3 on the season.

Nashua 1, Sussex 0

A pitchers duel broke out in Nashua as the Pride took down the Skyhawks. Pride starting pitcher Akira Okamoto did everything except for pick up the decision Thursday as he left the game with a scoreless tie after seven innings. Okamoto allowed only two hits and struck out four Sussex batters. Sussex starting pitcher Edisbel Benitez also had an impressive outing, allowing one run on six hits with three strikeouts. But Benitez allowed Nashua SS Olmo Rosario to score from third on a DH Jose Velasquez groundout to first base in the eighth inning to give the Nashua pitching staff all the run support it would need. Rosario reached base four times in the game, going 3-for-3 and taking a base on balls. Nashua lifted its record above .500 at 4-3 on the season.

Quebec 9, Worcester 4

Trailing the Tornadoes 2-1 entering the fifth inning, the Capitales scored eight runs during the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, respectively to build a 9-1 lead. Worcester picked up two runs in the ninth on Dominic Ramos' first homer of the season but it wasn't enough. Capitales starting pitcher Karl Gelinas earned his first win of the season with a seven inning performance in which he allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eight Tornadoes batters. Quebec 2B Boomer Berry hit three times, including two doubles, and scored every time he got on base. Quebec earned its sixth win of the season to remain atop the standings, one game ahead of 5-2 Atlantic City.
