The Atlantic City Surf routed the Long Island Ducks 11-4 Monday night at CitiBank Park. Trailing 4-0 after the first inning, Atlantic City scored 11 straight runs to earn its 32nd victory of the second half.
Coupled with Camden''s 9-8 loss to Bridgeport Atlantic City now has a six-game lead in the race for the second-half championship in the South Divisiion of the ALPB. The offensive assault was keyed by Pete Incaviglia who blasted a two-run homer in the sixth. Atlantic City would go on to score six runs in the inning, with Jose Velasquez clubbing a homer as well.
Ismael Villegas got the victory for Atlantic City, going the distance after giving up four runs in the first inning.
