Bridgeport,CT- The Surf scored early against Tim Cain scoring three runs in the first inning, but the Bluefish took advantage of Mark Rutherford in the bottom of the fifth as he showed signs of slowing down. The Fish slapped three straight doubles off him which knocked "The Shark" out of the game. Thompson came in to pitch, got the first two men out, but Tony Rodriguez hit a two-run homer off him with the count full to give the fish a 4-3 lead.
The Surf couldn''t get the timely hitting down as Tim Cain picked up the win for his 46th in the Atlantic League. Cain is now the all-time leader in victories in the AL. Mike Guilfoyle picked up his 19th save while Thompson got the loss.
