ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (July 6, 2002) - Pito Ramirez lined an RBI double into left-center field in the sixth inning to lift the Atlantic City Surf (27-33) over the Bridgeport Bluefish (35-26) Saturday evening at the Sandcastle. Atlantic City's Keith Gordon went 3-3 with two solo home runs to lead the Surf.

Surf leadoff man Steve Hine tied the game up in the fifth inning with an RBI single that plated Gerald Butt, who was hit by a pitch then advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Maleke Fowler. Surf starter Eric Ludwick had control problems for the second straight game and left after two and one third innings. He allowed three runs on three hits while striking out two and walking six. Atlantic City reliever Jake Chapman (4-2) was stellar in relief of Ludwick, tossing 3.2 innings while allowing no runs with four strikeouts.

Craig Mattson pitched to one batter in the ninth to earn his 11th save of the season Bridgeport starter Bryan Wolff (2-3) tossed five and one-third innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out one and walking two.
