The Atlantic City Surf (23-20) defeated the Pennsylvania Road Warriors (11-30), 10-3, at the Sandcastle Sunday evening in front of fans.
The Surf jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring three runs capped by a two-RBI triple off the bat of Ben Candelaria to score Tim Garland and Ric Johnson who both singled.
Atlantic City added two more runs in the second inning on a Garland triple to score Marval and an error on the third baseman allowed Garland to score.
Surf shortstop Willy Ruiz hit a two-RBI single in the third inning to put the Surf up 8-0.
Pennsylvania scored its first run in the fourth on back-to-back doubles by Jerry Amador and Mike Lopez-Cao.
Ben Candelaria hit a two-RBI single in the fifth to give Atlantic City a 10-1 lead.
Marval was 3-4 with three runs scored for Atlantic City and Candelaria was 2-4 with four RBI.
Pennsylvania added two more runs in the eighth to cut Atlantic City's lead to seven runs.
Surf starter Andy High had a stellar outing allowing one run on three hits in six innings of work to pick up the victory.
Road Warrior Pat Danaker got knocked out of the game after three innings giving up eight runs, six earned on 10 hits to pick up his eighth loss of the season.
