Atlantic City Surf News Release
ATLANTIC CITY _ The Atlantic City Surf defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers 9-3 before 4790 at Bernie Robbins Stadium Friday night. It was the second straight victory for Atlantic City, 8-12, in the second half. Lancaster fell to 11-8 in the second half. Raul Marval had a huge night for Atlantic City, as the steady shortstop went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and his 11th home run. Ozzie Timmons also homered for Atlantic City as his bat seems to be as hot as the weather. Joe Jiannetti was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Atlantic City. The Surf got unexpected help from Leo Estrella, who got a spot start. Estrella worked six innings and only allowed four hits and two runs while striking out six and walking just one to earn his first victory of the season. Eric Ackerman had a tough outing for the Barnstomers as he gave up six runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. The Barnstomers also committed three errors which led to three unearned runs for Atlantic City. Atlantic City's Dario Delgado was hit by a pitch in the first inning and had to leave the game. Delgado was taken to the hospital for x-rays for a potential broken hand. The two teams play again Saturday night at 6:35 where Atlantic City's Lincoln Mikkelsen(7-5) will face Lancaster's Scott Sobkowiak(7-1).
