The Atlantic City Surf defeated the Newark Bears 6-5 at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium Friday night.
The Surf was led by a four RBI effort from Chad Gambill, who clubbed a three-run homer for Atlantic City. It was the second straight win for the Surf on the road against Newark and upped the club's record to 13-12. Andy High got the win for Atlantic City with a five-hit, two-run outing. High is now 3-1 on the season. Traling 6-2 in the ninth the Bears rallied for three runs but it fell short as Randi Mallard icked up the save for Atlantic City. The two teams meet again Saturday night in Newark.
Atlantic City returns home Sunday for a three-game homestand against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
