North Shore Spirit News Release

Lynn, MA – The North Shore Spirit have not had much luck with the weather this season. After five complete innings at the New Fraser Field, Mother Nature struck again when the rain started pouring down around 8:45 pm.

The Rox had a 1-0 lead in top of the sixth inning when the game was put on a rain delay and subsequently called due to heavy rain. Because five full innings had been played, the game is ruled official and the Rox win 1-0.

RHP Bryan Morse (0-1) started for the Spirit, giving up three hits and striking out four. RHP Mike Marchesano (1-0) got the win for the Rox allowing five hits.

The sole Brockton run was scored when Jake Daubert reached on an error and advanced to second on a passed ball. Daubert proceeded to third after a Willie Edward's ground out to second base and scored on Nestor Smith's ground out to the shortstop.

Lynn native Yuri Sanchez had a double for the Spirit, extending his hitting streak to two games. Marcos Agramonte and Mike Tejada added hits.

RHP Miguel Baez will pitch tomorrow for the Spirit against RHP Joey Baker (0-0) for the Rox.

The North Shore Spirit play the last game of their series against Brockton tomorrow at 1:30 pm at Fraser Field. The team travels to New Jersey to face the New Jersey Jackals on Monday and return home on Thursday, June 5 to begin a seven game homestand.

Catch all Spirit action on their flagship station WESX 1230 AM. All 92 North Shore Spirit games will be broadcast on WESX and on the Spirit website www.northshorespirit.com.
