Green Bay Blizzard News Release
On Robert "Superman" Garth's retirement night, the Green Bay Blizzard earned a 60-20 victory over the in-state rival Milwaukee Iron in the inaugural battle for the Milk Can.
In front of over 7,000 fans, Blizzard QB Gino Guidugli (18 of 25 for 218 and 5 TD) started with two first quarter scores to WR Nate Forse (9 rec. for 112 and 3 TD). The second quarter saw Garth (5 for 32 and 2 TD) get in on the action with a 5 yard touchdown reception.
After the Milwaukee Iron scored in the middle of the first quarter, the Blizzard defense toughened up and didn't allow another score until midway through the fourth quarter. They even got a score of their own, forcing an intentional grounding in the end zone which resulted in a safety.
The second half included a multiple array of scores from both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Blizzard WR Anthony Crissingier-Hill (5 rec. for 61 yards and 1 TD) grabbed a 9 yard touchdown from Guidugli before WR Terry Love (2 rec. for 62 yards and 1 TD) also hooked up with Guidugli for a 39 yard bomb for six points.
Blizzard DB Shadrach Okoebor took a 10 yard fumble recovery to the house giving the Blizzard a 53-7 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Blizzard then finished their scoring attack with a Forse 21 yard touchdown reception from backup QB Mark Nicolet (3 of 4 for 49 yards and a TD).
With a total scoring performance of over 55 points, Blizzard fans were rewarded with a free scoop of custard courtesy of Culver's, and a free hotdog from Anduzzi's Sports Bar.
