Suns Walk-Off with 5-4 Win over Legends

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (52-33) enjoyed their third straight last at-bat win over the Lexington Legends (43-42), this time a 5-4 walk-off win in the ninth inning at Municipal Stadium on Friday night.

Right fielder Steven Souza recorded his second walk-off single of the season, knocking in Billy Burns from first base with a double to hand Hagerstown the win. It was Souza's lone hit of the game, while Burns finished the night 3-for-5. Designated hitter Brett Newsome blasted a home run in his second consecutive game to extend his hitting streak to eight games.

Suns starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull did nit factor in the decision, lasting six innings and allowing three earned runs. Reliever Colin Bates (3-2) earned the win pitching the final three innings of the game without allowing a run.

Legends righty Dayan Diaz (4-3) took the loss, while designated hitter Matt Duffy went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run to lead Lexington's offense.

The Suns will play game four of the series with the Legends on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Taylor Hill (8-4, 4.46) takes the mound against Lexington right-hander Luis Ordosgoitti (2-3, 5.01).
