Hagerstown Suns News Release
Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (75-51/33-24) took advantage of a few missteps by the Kannapolis Intimidators (57-70/24-43) to earn their 11th walk-off win of the season, 7-6, at Municipal Stadium on Tuesday Night. Adrian Nieto scored the winning run on a throwing error by Intimidators' right fielder Mark Haddow in the tenth inning.
Caleb Ramsey provided a pair of triples and three RBIs to finish the night with a 3-for-3 performance. Justin Miller went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored while Cutter Dykstra cranked his seventh home run of the season.
Suns' starter Blake Schwartz did not factor in the decision after going five innings and allowing two runs on five hits and a career-high eight strike outs. L.J. Hollins (2-0) earned the win by pitching the ninth and tenth innings perfectly.
Intimidators' pitcher Stew Brase (4-5) suffered the loss after starter Matthew Lane went 6.2 innings in a no-decision. Chris Curley (2-for-5, RBI), Grant Buckner (2-for-5, RBI) and Leighton Pangilinan (1-for-4, 2 RBIs) each blasted home runs for Kannapolis.
The Suns wrap up the series with Kannapolis on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Wirkin Estevez (5-1, 5.83) takes the mound against the Intimidators' RHP Eulides Leyer (1-1, 6.48).
