Hagerstown Suns News Release

The Suns bounced back from a dissapointing loss on Tuesday night to shutout the Captains 5-0 before nearly 3,000 fans on Wednesday afternoon.

Two starts, two wins. That's what righthander Orlando Rengel has done for the Suns since returning from the Brooklyn Cyclones two weeks ago. Not only has the 22-year-old improved his record to 2-1 after those two starts, he's yet to allow a single run in the dozen innings he pitched.

Lake County became his latest victim, earning just two hits during the six innings he threw. The Suns gave their teammate the lead, scoring on a double-steal in the third inning.

During the contest, the Suns successfully executed four sacrifice bunts including a suicide squeeze bunt by Carlos Gomez to score Matt Fisher from third in the seventh inning.

Ambiorix Concepcion roped two doubles for his second straight multi-hit game, and Derran Watts continued his clutch play with two RBI singles with runners in scoring position.

Aaron Laffey was dealt his fifth loss of the season and first against the Suns. The Cumberland, MD native lasted six innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits.

The Suns and Captains will play again tomorrow night, on a Thirsty Thursday presented by Twigg Cycles and Today's Hottest Country 104.7 FM. Tomorrow's game will also feature Ladies' Night and Merchant Night #2.

Jose Sanchez is expected to start the game for the Suns, while Dan Cevette will take the ball for Lake County.
