Suns Rally to Walk-Off Win over Lookouts

Jacksonville, Fla. - Scott Cousins knocked in the game-ending run with a two-out single over the centerfielder giving the Jacksonville Suns (76-56, 41-21) a 5-4 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (62-69, 32-30) in front of 7,289 Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Suns reliever Matt Peterson (4-4) picked up the victory, but allowed the game-tying run in the top of the ninth inning for his sixth blown save of the season. Lookouts reliever Matt Sartor (4-6) fell in the loss, giving up the game-ending run.

Jacksonville opened the scoring in the first inning against Lookouts starter Jesus Castillo. Logan Morrison tripled home Chris de la Cruz with one out for a 1-0 score. Scott Cousins next singled home Morrison for a 2-0 lead.

Chattanooga stormed ahead in the second inning, scoring three times against Jacksonville starter Nic Ungs. A Russell Mitchell double, Jesus Castillo sacrifice fly and James Tomlin single opened a 3-2=2 0Lookouts lead.

The Suns tied the game in the third inning as Chris de la Cruz scored on a Kevin Randel single for a 3-3 score.

Jacksonville regained the lead in the seventh inning as Logan Morrison belted a solo homerun to left field off Lookouts reliever Zach Schreiber for a 4-3 lead.

Chattanooga tied the game in the ninth inning against Suns closer Matt Peterson. With runners at first and third base and two out, Gaby Martinez singled home Vinny Rottino for a 4-4 score.

The Suns rallied in the bottom of the ninth inn ing against Lookouts closer Matt Sartor. With one out, Bryan Petersen singled and moved to second base on a de la Cruz walk. After a Logan Morrison foul out, Scott Cousins smashed a line drive over the centerfielder to bring Petersen in for the winning run.
