JACKSONVILLE, FL - Holding a 13-7 season series edge, the Jacksonville Suns need just three wins over the course of their final 10 games against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos to win the Battle for the Golden Skillet for the third consecutive year. The Suns will host Pensacola at Bragan Field on July 16 thru July 20 and again from August 17 thru August 21.
Jacksonville has seen success against Pensacola on the year, winning three of the four series the two teams have played.
In the year's first series the Suns won four of five games at Bragan Field and then took four of five again from the Blue Wahoos in Mid-May at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
The next ten meetings between the two teams also took place in Pensacola with each team winning five games.
"I hope we clinch it on Saturday or Sunday while we're on TV." Suns President Peter Bragan, Jr., said. "I'll have that skillet up in the broadcast booth with me!"
The Suns 7:05pm game on Saturday July 19th and 3:05pm game on Sunday July 20th will both be broadcast live in HD on CW17. Suns Director of Broadcasting Roger Hoover will deliver the play-by-play while Suns President and Owner Peter Bragan Jr. provides the color commentary.
