Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Cincinnati Reds announced a couple of moves on Wednesday involving the Blue Wahoos. RHP Mikey O'Brien, who pitched well in Monday's series finale against Montgomery, has been transferred back to Triple-A Louisville. In a corresponding move RHP Michael Lorenzen has been activated from the temporary inactive list.
O'Brien pitched a season-high seven innings for the Wahoos on Monday against the Biscuits and allowed just two runs on four hits. He returns to the Bats where he made one start before returning to Pensacola for one game to close out the Wahoos last series.
Lorenzen last pitched for the Blue Wahoos on July 1 against Jacksonville. He allowed just two unearned runs over six innings. He hasn't recorded a decision since earning the win on June 9 in Montgomery. The right-hander is 4-4 with a 2.45 ERA in 16 starts with the Blue Wahoos this season. Lorenzen is scheduled to start the series finale against Jacksonville on Sunday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
