
Suns Lose Extra Innings Thriller, 11-10

Lakewood, NJ - The Hagerstown Suns (49-32) were edged in 11 innings, 11-10, by the Lakewood BlueClaws (33-48) at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, NJ on Monday night.
Suns reliever Ben Hawkins (3-1) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in the final 1.1 innings of the game. Right fielder Steven Souza, Jr. led the Suns offense going 3-for-5 with two homeruns and five RBIs.
BlueClaws right-hander Kenny Giles (2-2) earned the win, giving up one run over the final inning Centerfielder Aaron Altherr had three RBIs, including the game winner on a bases loaded walk to end the game.
The Suns and BlueClaws will conclude the series on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. when LHP Bobby Hansen, Jr. (2-0, 3.50) takes the mound for Hagerstown. Lakewood will send RHP Colin Kleven (4-6, 4.69) to the mound for the start.
