Hagerstown Suns News Release

Hickory, NC:An eight game losing streak will accompany the Hagerstown Suns back home after a hard-fought 7-6 loss in 11 innings against the Hickory Crawdads. German Marte didn't pitch poorly, yet blew the save when he gave up a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extra innings. The Suns are 8 for 19 in save opportunities this year. Hickory (22-27) turned an inning-ending double play in the top of the 11th against Hector Pellot when the Suns had the bases loaded and one out. In the bottom of the inning Andrew McCutchen singled home the game winner off Josh Appell (0-4) with two outs for the win.

The Suns have a much needed off day on Wednesday before starting a four game homestand on Thirsty Thursday & Ladies Night at 6:35pm versus the first place Lexington Legends. Good tickets are still available by call the Suns office at 301-791-6266 or online at www.hagerstownsuns.com.
