Mobile BayBears News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Mobile BayBears dropped both games of their doubleheader against the Jacksonville Suns Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The BayBears (79-56) fell in game one by a final of 3-1 and the Suns (79-59) walked-off in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 1-0 win in game two.
After the BayBears took a 1-0 lead by taking advantage of a Suns error with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, the Suns came back to take the lead, scoring three runs including a two-run homer from Austin Barns to give Jacksonville the 3-1 advantage in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Mobile wouldn't score again the rest of the game as they were shut down by Suns RHP Jay Rogers who allowed just the one unearned run on three hits over 5.1 innings, improving to 7-5 after earning the win. The loss was credited to BayBears RHP Braden Shipley who allowed all three of Jacksonville's runs on just three hits, walking four and striking out six in five innings, falling to 1-2 on the season.
