Suns Announce Roster Moves August 6

JACKSONVILLE - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's contest with the Tennessee Smokies at Bragan Field.

Catcher Taylor Krick has been placed on the seven-day Disabled List retroactive to August 5 due to a left shoulder contusion. In his 39 contests for the Suns in 2013, Krick has compiled a .276 average (27-98) with a home run and 16 RBI.

In a corresponding move, catcher Austin Barnes has been transferred to Jacksonville from High-A Jupiter. The 23-year-old has accumulated a .261 mark (91-349) in 97 games for the Hammerheads this year, adding four homers and 38 RBI.
