Arizona Sundogs News Release


After dropping two straight contests to the Colorado Eagles at home last week, the Arizona Sundogs (5-10-2) begin a season-long six-game road trip Tuesday against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The Sundogs dropped their seventh one-goal loss of the season on Friday against the Eagles, 2-1. On Saturday Arizona lost by more than two goals for just the second time this season, falling 8-2.

Sundogs Storylines:

- A struggle early this season, the Sundogs' special teams play, specifically the power play, had success against the Colorado Eagles despite dropping both contests. Arizona's power play converted at a 20% clip, finishing 3-for-15 with the man advantage. The Sundogs' penalty kill held Colorado scoreless on six power play chances through two games.

- Kevin Gardner extended his current point streak to three games with one goal and two assists in two games against Colorado last week becoming the Sundogs' leading scorer with 18 points (7g/11a) in 17 games.

- Linus Fagemo had a four-game goal scoring streak snapped in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Eagles. The veteran forward recorded five goals in four games prior to Saturday's contest. Fagemo has

- Player/assistant coach Chris Bartolone snapped a 14-game goalless streak in Saturday's loss, converting on a power play opportunity early in the third period. Bartolone has 11 points (2g/9a) in 17 games.

- Bartolone extended his consecutive games streak to 207 CHL regular season contests. The veteran forward has never missed a CHL regular season contest and is six games away from his 1,000th pro game.

- The Sundogs' 8-2 loss Saturday was just the second game where the team has lost by more than two goals this season. Friday's 2-1 loss was the team's seventh one-goal loss of the year.

- Netiminder J.F. Perras ranks towards the top of CHL backstops in games played (t-5th, 12), minutes played (7th, 707:38) and saves (7th, 325).
