Arizona Sundogs News Release
The Arizona Sundogs (3-5-2, 8 pts.) collected three of a possible six points and finished with a 1-1-1 record in a three-game set against the Laredo Bucks last weekend. Arizona topped the Bucks 9-0 in the biggest margin of victory in franchise history. Scott Thauwald netted his and the team's first hat trick of the season while J.F. Perras recorded his and the club's first shutout of the season with 28 saves. Thirteen players recorded at least a point in Wednesday's win - the team's first home win of the season - while 10 recorded multiple points.
The Sundogs fell 3-2 in a shootout - their first of the season - Friday night and lost another one-goal contest, 4-3, Saturday. Next up for the Sundogs is a two-game home set against Southern Conference foe the Corpus Christi IceRays beginning Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:05pm at Tim's Toyota Center.
Sundogs Storylines:
- Arizona has the best team plus/minus rating in the league at plus-54. Colorado ranks second at plus-43. The Sundogs have just one player with a minus rating (Linus Fagemo, minus-5) and one player at even (Kim Karsberg).
- Arizona goaltender J.F. Perras pitched his and the team's first shutout of the season in Wednesday's 9-0 win over the Laredo Bucks with 28 saves. The goaltender went 1-1-1 in the three-game set against Laredo and is 3-1-1 in his last five starts. His 194 saves rank third in the CHL among goaltenders, his.915 save percentage is sixth-best and his 2.96 goals against averaged is ninth-best among CHL backstops.
- Veteran defenseman and team captain and player/assistant coach Chris Bartolone is riding a three-game point streak, having tallied five points (0g/5a) and a plus-7 rating in three games against Laredo last week. His plus-8 rating leads all league defensemen and he ranks fourth overall in scoring among CHL blueliners with nine points (1g/8a).
- Torren Delforte had a CHL season-high eight-game point streak snapped in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Laredo. Prior to Saturday's loss, Delforte tallied 12 points (7g/5a) in eight games. Delforte notched four points (2g/2a) and a plus-5 rating in two games against the Bucks prior to being held off the score sheet Saturday. He leads the team and ranks 10th in the league in scoring.
- Konrad Reeder ranks second in team scoring and is averaging nearly a point per game with nine points (3g/6a) in 10 games. His plus-7 rating is also second-best on the team.
- Matt Foy returned from the 14-day I.R. prior to Saturday night's 4-3 loss to Laredo and tallied two helpers. The former NHLer appeared in Arizona's opening night contest prior to being placed on the 14-day I.R. and now has two assists, four penalty minutes and is plus-1 in two games with the Sundogs this season.
- Rookie forward Joey Sides continues his torrent play since being added to the roster. Sides has four points (2g/2a) and is plus-5 in five games with Arizona this season.
- The Sundogs' power play ranks 14th in the league at 7.81 percent. Only Missouri (7.02 percent) ranks worse. Arizona has failed to score a goal on their last 19 man advantage chances.
- Fagemo, Karsberg and Thomas Roussel are on the 14-day I.R.
