Bucks' Levassuer Wins Weekly CHL Award

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Monday that J.P Levassuer has been named the Oakley/CHL goaltender of the week for November 9th.
The 22-year-old Levassuer led the Bucks to two one-goal victories against Arizona over the weekend, stopping a total of 54 of 59 shots he faced.
Friday night Levassuer, a native of Victoriaville, Quebec, stopped 23 of 25 shots, including all five shootout attempts in the Bucks 3-2 win. In Saturday's 4-3 win over the Sundogs Levassuer stopped 31 of 34 shots, including 13 of 15 in the third period to lead Laredo to their second straight win.
The 6'0'', 200-pound Levassuer is unbeaten in regulation this season for the Bucks, posting a 4-0-1 record, with a 2.55 G.A.A, and a.909 sv. %. Three of Levassuer's four wins this season have come on the road.
Levassuer (pronounced LEV-a-sur) was drafted in the seventh round (#197 overall) by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, and spent parts of the last two seasons in the AHL. Levassuer is on loan to the Bucks this season from Anaheim.
Levasseur has played in 51 career AHL games, posting a combined record of 17-22-5 with the Portland Pirates ('07-08) and Iowa Chops ('08-09).
Levassuer is the seventh Bucks goaltender to win the weekly award.
For his efforts Levassuer will receive a gift from Oakley.

With Veterans Day on Wednesday the Bucks will honor Local Hero's when the team hosts the Killer Bees that night. The Bucks will honor local military members, as well as local firefighters, police, border patrol and more.
The first 1,000 fans to enter the arena Wednesday night receive a FREE"support our troops" wrist band. The Bucks will wear special Veterans Jersey's Wednesday night that will be auctioned off after the game.
