Ellie Shoal Potvin is a beautiful seven year old girl who was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma in July of 2008. The Checkers relationship with the Potvins began last season when they hosted "Lift Up Ellie Night" at Time Warner Cable Arena. The family, Checkers and community teamed up to raise funds to help ease the mounting financial burden. The Potvins have no control of the number of days they will be blessed with Ellie's joy filled spirit and have been handed the news that they are once again facing the fight of the little girls life.
