Sunday's Blue Rocks Game Postponed
May 3, 2009 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Wilmington, DE - Thanks to the rain which has saturated Judy Johnson Field at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium throughout Sunday morning, the Wilmington Blue Rocks have postponed their scheduled 1:35 p.m. game with the Winston-Salem Dash.
The Rocks and Dash will make-up the contest as part of a doubleheader during Winston-Salem's next trip to Wilmington. The teams were originally scheduled to meet four times from June 18-21.
The Blue Crew return to action on Monday at 6:35 p.m., as the defending Carolina League champion Potomac Nationals come to the Riverfront. The Frawley Stadium gates will open at 5:35 p.m.
Wilmington will send piggyback pitchers Ray Liotta and Eduardo Paulino to the hill. Liotta enters the contest with a 1-1 record and a 6.43 ERA. The lefty will be appearing in his sixth game of 2009. Meanwhile, Paulino owns a 1-0 mark and a 6.75 earned run average. The right-hander will be pitching in his fifth game of the season.
The night will also feature an appearance by the Phillies World Series Trophy thanks to Teva Pharmaceuticals and Comcast Sportsnet. Fans can get their picture taken with baseball's ultimate prize from the start of the game through the fifth inning.
All tickets for Sunday's scheduled contest are redeemable for one calendar year at any Blue Rocks game.
