Connecticut Sun News Release

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (February 20, 2008) - The Connecticut Sun will tip off the 2008 preseason on May 1st, traveling to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center at 12 noon EST, for the first of three preseason contests.

Following the Minnesota game, the Sun will return home to Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 4th at 12 noon to host Diana Taurasi and the defending WNBA Champions Phoenix Mercury. Connecticut will close out the preseason against the Houston Comets in Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, May 9th at 7 p.m.

"Playing three teams from the Western Conference in the preseason, including the defending champion Mercury, is by design," said Connecticut Sun general manager Chris Sienko. "The West is a physical conference, and these games should help prepare our team for the rigors of the regular season. With two preseason home games, it will give our fans a chance to see the new-look Sun early in the year."

The Connecticut Sun will open its sixth season of play on May 17th by hosting the Atlanta Dream in Mohegan Sun Arena. Season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now and can be reserved by calling a Sun Ticket Representative at 1.877.SUN.TIXX (786-8499) or by visiting www.connecticutsun.com.
