Worcester Tornadoes News Release
WORCESTER, MA--- Another strong outing from a Worcester starter and another playoff victory for the Tornadoes. The black and orange take a two games to none lead with a 7-6 victory at home.
Chris Farley (1-0) threw one hundred and thirty pitches and gave up four earned runs over six plus innings before handing the ball over to his bullpen. Eddie Pena, on for the second straight night was a tad shaky, but in the end got to the end of the seventh without surrendering the lead. Ramirez allowed a two run bomb to left from Marcus Sanders, but a one run lead was all Anthony Sullivan would need. The Arlington, MA native collected his first save of the post-season with two impressive strikeouts.
Worcester's three through six hitters were a combined 10-23 with all seven RBI's, all with two outs. Carlos Sosa went opposite field for the first two run homer in the first, and Chris Colabello smacked a two run shot in the third. Mike MacMillan's two out broken bat single led to a four run third. All seven Worcester runs were charged to Issac Pavlik (0-1) who was tagged with the loss.
The series heads to Little Falls, NJ tomorrow at 7:05 when Zach Zuercher (0-0) will try to break out the brooms for Worcester. The Jackals will counter with right hander Ted Serro (0-0).
