The Quebec Capitales broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fourth inning, tacked on another run in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead and rolled from there to a 2-0 series lead. Capitales starting pitcher Michel Simard allowed two earned runs on six hits through 6 2/3 innings of work to earn his first win of the postseason. Quebec C Patrick D'Aoust led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBI. LF Alex Nunez was 2-for-4 with two RBI while 1B Pierre-Luc LaForest also went 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs in support of the winning effort. Capitales reliever Derek McDaid earned his first save thanks to a scoreless ninth inning.

Worcester 3B Chris Colabello hit his second home run in as many games and the Tornadoes held on, despite a late New Jersey rally, to win by a run and take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Colabello finished the contest 2-for-3 with with the homer, two runs scored and two RBI to lead Worcester offensively. The Tornadoes held a 7-2 lead entering the seventh inning, but allowed two runs in that frame and two more in the eighth inning to see the cushion dwindle to 7-6. But reliever Anthony Sullivan took the ball in the ninth and fanned two on his way to a scoreless frame and his first save of the postseason.
