
Sugar Skulls Add Four New Defensive Lineman

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sugar Skulls have announced the signing of four defensive linemen for the 2025 IFL season. Johnny Hudson Jr., Nyles Gaddy, Jackson Flowers, and John McMullen will join the team for their first professional seasons in the league.
Johnny Hudson Jr. joins the Sugar Skulls after a collegiate career at Fresno State and Contra Costa College. In 2023 at Fresno State, Hudson played 13 games, starting 12, and recorded 21 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, and four quarterback hurries. He earned CSC Academic All-District® honors and preseason All-Mountain West recognition. Hudson also posted 34 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss in 2022. At Contra Costa College, he logged 28 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles, helping the team achieve a 10-1 record.
Nyles Gaddy brings collegiate experience from Missouri, Jackson State, and Tennessee to Tucson. In 2023 at Missouri, he played 12 games, recording 4.0 sacks, 21 tackles, and three quarterback hurries. During two seasons at Jackson State, Gaddy earned First-Team All-SWAC and First-Team All-HBCU honors in 2022, posting 74 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 11.0 sacks.
Jackson Flowers enters the IFL following time at East Central University and Central Missouri. In 2023, Flowers recorded nine tackles, including two solo stops, for East Central. He also contributed to the team's conference championship during his tenure.
John McMullen joins the Sugar Skulls after standout performances at West Florida and Northern Michigan. In 2022 at Northern Michigan, he earned Second-Team All-GLIAC honors, leading the team with 20.5 tackles for loss and 7.0 sacks. He also recorded 75 total tackles and ranked sixth nationally among Division II defenders in tackles for loss.
