Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

The three-game series between the Double-A affiliates of the New York Yankees & New York Mets drew the largest combined fan total of any June weekend at NYSEG Stadium in franchise history.

With a Father's Day turnout of 3,418, the total paid attendance for the three games amounted to 15,520. Previously, the June record, achieved from June 12-14 of 1992, stood at 14,211.

Overall, this weekend's attendance ranks third all-time in B-Mets three-game series at home. The record occurred over Labor Day weekend (August 30-September 1) in the inaugural 1992 season when 17,471 came out for the last regular season games. From August 12-14 of 1994, in what turned out to be another Eastern League Championship year like 1992, the second highest count at the home of the Binghamton Mets, known then as Binghamton Municipal Stadium, reached 16,327.

The weekend series, in which the Trenton Thunder took two of three games, featured the season's first sellout when 6,313 purchased tickets to Saturday night's victory by the Double-A Mets. Friday night's crowd of 5,789 fell just shy of a sellout.
