The Latest Michel Abreu's three-run homer capped off a five-run third, propelling the Binghamton Mets to an 8-2 win over the Trenton Thunder at NYSEG Stadium yesterday...Mike DiFelice and Wilson Batista also drove in runs during the inning with RBI doubles...Jay Caligiuri had 3 RBI, with a fifth-inning sacrifice fly and a two-run homer in the seventh...Corey Ragsdale was the only B-Met with a multi-hit game, doubling twice and scoring once...Tim McNab allowed a run over five innings, earning the win in the spot start...the win evens the series at a game apiece and is Binghamton's seventh victory in their last 10 games.

About Binghamton Yesterday's win was Binghamton's ninth in 15 June contests. The B-Mets have matched their win total for all of May, a month that saw them go 9-21...a win today would give the B-Mets victories in four straight series after they had lost four straight series...After scoring first yesterday, the B-Mets are 6-1 in the last seven games in which they've scored first...B-Mets relievers have turned the corner of late, allowing one earned run in their last four appearances (14 IP, 0.64 ERA)...26 of Binghamton's last 41 games have been decided by two runs or fewer, with the B-Mets winning 12 of those close contests, nine of them at home.

About Trenton The Thunder snapped a two-game losing streak with yesterday's win...Trenton lost their first 10 games of the year and began the season 1-13. Since their first 14 games, the Thunder have gone 32-20, moving as many as two games over .500...Trenton returns 1B/OF Shelley Duncan, who led the EL in homers in 2005. This year, Shelley is again atop the league in homers (15), also leading the circuit in extra-base hits (35) while driving in 43 runs, the EL's third-highest total...last year, the Thunder made it to the postseason for the first since 1999, falling to Portland in the first round.
