BOISE, Idaho, February 14, 2011 - Weiser High School's basketball coach Neil Stutzman is this week's "Be True to Your School" award winner, presented by Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires.

The following are excerpts from the nominations for Coach Stutzman.

"Coach Stutzman's inspirational speeches and encouragement is always seen at basketball games, but what's not seen is behind the scenes at basketball practice. His tactics of conditioning his players to be the very best and outwork the opponent with hard-nosed, blue collar defense is simple, but very effective."

Coach Stutzman has been invited to be a guest of the Idaho Stampede on Friday, February 25, to be recognized on-court for his award. Throughout the season, coaches will be invited to be recognized at Idaho Stampede basketball games and Idaho Steelheads hockey games at Qwest Arena.

At Stampede games, the honored coach has the chance to win another $250 if he or she can make a free throw.

The "Be True to Your School" program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recognition. The winning coaches will be invited to a game at Qwest Arena to be honored and the athletics department at the winner's school will receive a $750 donation from Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires. In all, $15,000 will be donated to area schools.

To nominate a coach for the award, visit the Commercial Tire website and click on the "Be True to Your School" logo. Fill out the nomination form and click "Submit Form." Once you've done that, your coach has officially been nominated. One winner per week will be selected.

Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires are working together with the NBA Development League's Idaho Stampede and the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads on the "Be True to Your School" promotion.
