Bruno the Bighorn Teams up with Atlantis to Help Fight Autism

RENO, Nev.- Bruno the Bighorn-beloved mascot of the Reno Bighorns-is holding a rooftop rally on top of the valet parking garage at the Atlantis beginning Tuesday, Feb. 15, to raise money for the Autism Coalition of Nevada (ACON), a non-profit organization that provides services for Nevada's special needs children and adults.

In an effort to raise money for ACON, Bruno is prepared to stay until 1,000 Reno Bighorns tickets are sold. The Bighorns will donate 50 percent of all ticket proceeds to ACON during Bruno's time on the roof. To participate in Bruno's rooftop rally and support ACON, fans are asked to visit Bruno at the Atlantis or call the Reno Bighorns at (775) 284-2622. Fans can choose to purchase tickets for the Bighorns game on either Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. or Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m.

Atlantis will kick off event by pre-purchasing 100 tickets to help Bruno reach his goal. In addition, Atlantis will hold a winter weather, blanket and clothing drive to keep Bruno warm during his rally.

"We support Bruno's rally," said Ashley Brune, publicist for Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. "We want to ensure that he has all the necessary clothing to endure Reno's winter temperatures while he is on the roof."

Winter weather donations can be made at Atlantis, at the Bell Desk and the Race & Sports Book, and will benefit the Salvation Army of Northern Nevada. A scoop of Atlantis' homemade GELATO will be given to anyone who makes a donation.

Even if you cannot attend either Bighorns game, fans can donate their tickets to ACON, which will ensure that special needs families will get a chance to enjoy a night of family fun with the team. Strict monetary donations can be made at any Reno/Sparks Wells Fargo Financial Institute.

The next Bighorns home game is Sunday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. against the Utah Flash. Fans can purchase tickets for the game by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting Bruno at the Atlantis.
