Strykers Strike Back

Victoria, TX - The Generals took on the Woodland Strykers for game two of a two game series. The Generals took the first game in a nail biter that was won on a walk off walk. Friday night was "Strike Out Cancer" at Riverside stadium. The Generals sported pink jerseys that were auctioned off after the game concluded.

The Strykers struck first in the first inning with four scored runs on two hits. There were three walked batters and two RBI's.

The Strykers scored two runs in the second inning on three hits and one walked batter. This extended the Strykers lead to six.

Bryce Welborn, the starting pitcher for the Generals, was replaced in the third by Troy Ward. Welborn gave up six runs on six hits, walked four batters, and struck out two.

The Strykers would again score in the 4 th inning after a RBI single from Spence Rahm.

The Generals got things going offensively in the 4 th inning with a couple of runs. Pedro Barrios hit a sac fly to send C.J Pickering home and Justin Thiess hit a single to bring home David Paiz.

The Strykers continued to dominate in the 5 th inning with a run scored off of a fielder's choice. Garrett Lozano, Will Watson, Shane Adams, and Spence Rahm would all cross home plate as well to give the Strykers a 10 run lead in the 5 th .

C.J Pickering entered the game to replace Troy Ward. Ward allowed six runs on six hits. He struck out one batter and walked three.

In the 6 th inning, Miguel Livingston came in for Greg Belton. Belton allowed two runs on five hits. Belton struck out five batters and walked four.

In the 8 th inning, J.B Moss subbed in for C.J Pickering. Pickering allowed no runs on two hits. He struck out three batters and walked one.

Kaleb Keith took over the pitching duties in the 9 th inning. J.B Moss allowed no runs on one hit. He struck out two batters and walked one. Keith allowed no hits and no runs. He struck out one batter and walked one.

Miguel Livingston gave up two hits and no runs. He finished the game for the Strykers.

Bryce Welborn was handed the loss tonight. The winning pitcher for the Strykers was Greg Belton. The Generals will be facing off against the Acadiana Cane Cutters in the last regular season home series of the season. Tomorrow Night's Game is a free ticket Saturday, presented by Fast Stop/Ozarka, first pitch is scheduled at 7:05.
